Abstracted Landscapes

May 26, 2012

Create an abstracted landscape from your own photograph.  Learn how to look closely at shape, composition, line and colour and use these design concepts to start your very own contemporary abstract landscape.  Better yet, use your imagination to change the setting, the time, the season and make the painting your own version in your mind.  Remember abstract paintings are your internal interpretations of what we see is "real" ! Students will learn about building up texture with acrylic mediums, and practice layering and glazing in acrylics.  Step by step demonstrations and the opportunity to work on their own image during studio time. Discussions and critique will allow students to improve on exciting work and learn from each painting
